Please read before submitting approval...
Our recommendation is to have a sufficient
number of men available to unload your sign unless you have a
forklift or loading dock available. Some freight companies make
lift-gates
available on some routes. They are not available on every route. If you require one, please make a note in the
comment section or ask the freight company's dispatcher when called.
The additional cost of a lift-gate is approximately $150.00. Very
few of our clients required one. On larger signs such as those
larger than 40 square feet, it is good if you can make arrangements
to have your sign delivered to an address with a loading dock if
possible.
Many of our clients have also slid their sign
onto the back of a pickup truck so that their sign could be stored
on the property until the time of installation.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING YOUR NEW SIGN
FROM
CORNERSTONE COMPANIES, LLC
(Please print
for your records and share with all members of your sign unloading
team)
What happens next?
Signs typically go into production within 3 days of receipt of your
final artwork approval. Production time varies but it usually
requires 30 to 45 days depending upon the time of year, holiday
schedules and workloads. If you have a
date that you have to have your sign by please call us and notify us
immediately.
When the sign is completed, crated and ready for shipping,
you will
be contacted to give you shipping information ( BOL, closest
shipping terminal, dispatch phone number ) and an estimated
arrival date. Freight companies charge an additional fee if the
shipping address changes, so it is important for us to have accurate
information to give to the freight company.
After your sign is in transit, the freight company's
dispatcher should contact you to coordinate a more specific delivery
time. When the dispatcher calls, you may choose to inquire about
the availability and cost of a gate-lift if you have not already
made a request.
Prepare for arrival of your sign
When your
sign arrives: Inspect your sign for damages
before you sign for it. Look for dents, scratches, cracks and
chipped paint. While damages are rare, they can occur.
Inspect your sign while it is still in the truck. Take a flashlight
with you onto the truck if necessary and carefully look over the sign. If you do
not see any
damages, then you should sign for your sign and unload it.
Your sign has been crated to protect it from
being damaged during shipment.
Do NOT let a truck driver intimidate you or prevent you from
checking your sign for damages. If you are uncomfortable with this process,
please call for assistance.
What to do if
your sign has damages:
- Show the damages to the truck driver.
- Describe the damages on the bill of lading
- Take a picture of the damages. You will
need to have a camera on-hand. Truck drivers should not be asked
to wait while someone goes for a camera. They usually will not.
- Call us and describe the extent of the damages.
The extent of the damage to your
your sign will dictate that your sign be accepted or rejected.
Small scratches – You may choose to accept the shipment and
touch up the scratches. Touch up paint is shipped with every sign.
Dented pole covers or trim – Some parts such as pole covers
and decorative trims can be immediately shipped to you for
replacing.
Major damage to cabinet or sign face
– Refuse receipt of your sign. The freight company will return
the sign and your sign will be either repaired immediately or a new
sign shipped immediately.
Important
Reminder
Your sign was loaded onto the freight company's
truck with absolutely no damages. It was signed for by the
freight company as being in perfect condition. If your sign
was accidently damaged in shipment, the freight company is liable
for paying for any and all repairs as well as freight costs back to
the plant and back to you. Freight company do NOT accept liability
if you sign that your sign is undamaged unless damages are
concealed. If you discover concealed damages after uncrating
your sign, take photographs and contact us immediately.
